Certainly you check the content and spelling of your document before you send an electronic copy to others. But do you check your document for personal or confidential information that isn’t directly visible but can be made visible? So called metadata contain information such as author, subject, title or the date of creation. Also comments, marks of revision and other annotations could be included. If you don’t want to publish sensitive information you have to clean up your file before you send it.
